Hindu Shrine
Erawan Shrine
Located on Ratchadamri Road, diagonally opposite the World Tade
Centre, this shrine devoted to Phra Phrom, a Hindu god, and is greatly
revered by locals and tourists alike. Laced flowers and small wooden
elephants as well as Thai dancing performances are always offered
to the statue by grateful devotees. During high tourist season in
the evenings, elephants often come to the shrine with their mahouts
- creating an added attraction for tourists to see and photograph.
Crocodile Farm
The crocodile farm, on Old Sukhumwit Road in Samutprakan, has a
regular show, untold quantities of crocodiles, a (drugged?) tiger
which you can take your photo with, some elephants and heaps of
other things to see. There is also a restaurant where crocodile
tail, cooked in a variety of styles, is on the menu. It would be
a major effort to get to the crocodile farm by public transport,
but can easily be reached by private car (or taxi if you can communicate
where you want to go to the driver) via Bang Na, Srinakarin Road
and Sukhumwit Road.

Safari World
Safari World is a genuine safari park, populated by a variety of
African animals including giraffes, lions, rhinos, etc. It's great
value at only 100 Baht per head, you just drive yourself around
in your own car. There's also a bus that can take you around if
you're carless. To find out exactly how to get there, give them
a call on 518 1000-19 and ask them to fax you a map.
